During our most recent trip to Walt Disney World, we decided to try the Allergy Friendly menus at Several Quick Dining locations (and were pleasantly surprised) our first stop was Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe in The Magic Kingdom.
Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe is a Quick Service dining location in Tomorrowland with a variety of American Cusine, Cosmic Ray’s cater for the following Allergy’s…
Peanut/Tree Nut Allergy,
but for this article, we will be focusing on the Gluten/Wheat Free Menu items.
The Gluten and Wheat Free Menu…
1/3 lb Angus Bacon Cheeseburger – Gluten/Wheat Allergy-friendly.
Flame-broiled 1/3 lb Angus Burger topped with Bacon and American Cheese on an Allergy-friendly Bun served with French Fries or a Cuties® Mandarin.
We tried this burger and were VERY impressed! the Gluten/Wheat Free Bun was extremely soft and the burger incredibly juicy and tasty! at the time of ordering (November 2018) the price of this menu item was $13.29 and a very filling meal! (Please note that this meal doesn’t come with a soft drink, these have to be purchased separately).
Kids’ Salad with Turkey – Gluten/Wheat Allergy-friendly.
served with a choice of 2 sides (Choose from GoGo squeeZe Applesauce, A Cuties Mandarin and Fries).
The Kids’ Salad with Turkey was another meal we decided to order from the Gluten/Free Free Menu, with this menu item you can choose 2 sides and a Drink (which definitely makes it value for money at only $7.29) the meal was incredibly tasty and we found the portion size large enough for an adult! we highly recommend this menu item!
Grilled Chicken Club – Gluten/Wheat Allergy-friendly.
Herb-marinated Chicken Breast topped with American Cheese and Bacon on an Allergy-friendly Bun served with French Fries or a Cuties® Mandarin.
Yet another Gluten/Wheat Free Menu item we decided to try, one thing we did find misleading is that the menu states ‘Cookies’ but you only get one Cookie (but it is quite large) at first glance we could see that the cookie wasn’t freshly baked as it was sealed in a packet which appeared to come out of a ‘freezer’ as it wasn’t fully defrosted (so we did have to wait a while before conducting a taste-test) at first bite we were yet again surprised! the cookie was very flavoursome and enjoyable to eat, the only downside is the price! $3.29 is quite pricey for one Cookie (but then again we are in Walt Disney World!)
The same as the Gluten Free Cookies we found the Allergy-friendly Brownie arrived part frozen (but in Florida heat, this isn’t too much of a problem!) after conducting our taste test this was our favourite Gluten Free dessert at Walt Disney World resort!! Yet again incredibly tasty and full of flavour! PERFECT for Chocolate lovers! the only downside was the price of $4.29!
When it comes to menu items such as Cookies and Brownies you will save a lot of money if you bring your own Gluten-Free snacks into the Disney Theme Parks (which is allowed) Wallmart and Target have a large selection of Gluten Free Snacks at a fraction of the cost (compared to Disney) but if money isn’t a concern for you, the Allergy-Friendly Brownie is definitely worth a try!.
If you didn’t already know we are Family Disney Vloggers from the UK and conducted this taste test during our first day at The Magic Kingdom in November 2018.
