Insider Tips for Disney World’s Animal Kingdom

If you’ve finally made your plans to go to Disney a reality, then chances are you’re not sure what to expect from Animal Kingdom. That is, of course, unless you have been there before. But for first timers (or people who don’t plan in advance) Here are some insider tips…

Don’t Sleep In…

Most people make this mistake. However, the lines dictate that you should probably enjoy your rides in the morning. Also, the animals experience their most energetic periods in the morning.

Use a Guide…

There are a few things you can pick up to make your experience more enjoyable. You can access the My Disney Experience App to download on your phone. Also, the park has Animal Guide available upon entry where the maps are located.

Go on the Trails…

You don’t just have to be on the safari to have access to the animals. You can also walk the trails. This way, you will really get to experience the wildlife and you will also get great exercise.

Join the Wilderness Explorers…

This program will allow you to approach the park as a bit of a treasure hunt. You will be able to complete tasks that will earn you a badge eventually. This can be a fun way to get more out of your day at Animal Kingdom.

Plan Your Fast Passes in Advance…

The Flight of Passage, Expedition Everest, and Kilimanjaro Safaris have notoriously long lines so plan your Fast Passes for in advance. You don’t want to miss out this rides!

Eat at the Park…

It might seem tempting to want to bring along a sandwich. In fact, it might seem inevitable. However, you only go to Disney once in a while. So make sure that you enjoy the cuisine that they prepare there. Animal Kingdom has a great reputation for food. If you have people in your group that are very particular about their food, then RainForest Cafe might be the perfect compromise. At Tusker House, you will maximize your chances of running into Disney characters, so that might also be a draw for people in your group. Tiffins is a great restaurant to sit down and relax at.

Go on the Safari a Few Times…

The Kilimanjaro Safari is worth riding several times because the animals are always doing different things. You might catch them at feeding time or just playing around, but every time you go on the safari, you are sure to come away with different memories.

Attend a Show…

If you’re feeling tired, then this is a perfect way to unwind in the shade.

Find Your Disney Friends…

The park is teeming with characters from your favourite Disney movies. You can track them on your app.

Visit all the Entertainment…

There can be dance parties and more. And stay for the night with River of Lights. You can book a dessert party or a dinner package and see the beautiful displays on the river.
